Frequently asked questions
Coming from LloydsDirect
LloydsDirect has joined the Pharmacy2U family. If you have been a LloydsDirect customer in the past, you will have been sent an email from us to move your account over to Pharmacy2U. If you have been thinking about joining LloydsDirect, you can now join Pharmacy2U for the same service and more.
LloydsDirect accounts are no longer accessible so please use your new Pharmacy2U account to place and track your next order. Your Pharmacy2U account will only show repeat prescription orders that have been dispensed and dispatched by Pharmacy2U.
We encourage all patients that have moved across from LloydsDirect to Pharmacy2U to request their prescriptions using the Pharmacy2U website, app, or automated phone ordering system. This will enable us to process requests as quickly as possible.
The LloydsDirect app is no longer available so please download the Pharmacy2U app to request or manage your future orders. To download the app please visit the App Store or get it on Google Play.
Both Pharmacy2U and LloydsDirect put their patients at the heart of everything they do. While you might notice slight differences in the way things look between the two businesses, rest assured that the commitment to delivering the best possible experience when it comes to taking care of your prescriptions remains the same.
LloydsDirect has shared a limited amount of personal information in order for Pharmacy2U to create new accounts and make the transition as seamless as possible. This personal information includes your:
Name
NHS number
Home/delivery address
Contact information
Exemption details (if applicable)
LloydsDirect has not shared any payment details, or any information about your prescribed medicines.
For your security and protection, we do not transfer any sensitive financial information when creating your Pharmacy2U account. We therefore need you to add your payment details once your Pharmacy2U account is activated. If we don’t hold valid payment details on your account, we won't be able to release your order until this is updated, even if your GP has approved your prescription.
We will attempt to contact you to resolve the situation. Once you add your details to your account your order will be automatically released. If payment details are not added, then we will return your prescription to the NHS central database to allow you to collect locally.
How to update your payment details:
Log into your Pharmacy2U account
Select Account from the left-hand menu
Choose ‘Payment’
Select ‘Add’ and input your preferred payment card details
Confirm your changes
Please note: If you hold a valid NHS prescription prepayment certificate (PPC), this is classed as an exemption. Follow the steps to add an exemption and select option F for a general prepayment certificate, or option W for an HRT-only prepayment certificate.
Don’t worry, as soon as Pharmacy2U has received your prescription from your GP, your repeat prescription medication list will automatically appear in your account.
Please note that if your GP has not added an item to your ongoing repeat medication list, this may not appear, but you can add items with the steps below.
If you want it to show before we have received your prescription from your GP, you can easily add the medicine manually by following these steps:
Log into your Pharmacy2U account
Select Prescriptions from the left-hand menu
Choose ‘Add Medication’ and search for the name of your prescribed medicine
Select the form and dose of medicine as it appears of your prescription
Choose ‘Add Medicine’
To add another item, simply repeat the process.
The medicine will now appear on your repeats list, ready for you to request through your Pharmacy2U account.
Before you register
We can take care of your NHS prescriptions, including repeat or one-off items. You just need to be registered with a GP in England. If you’d benefit from free home delivery and a handy app to request your medicines on the go, our service could be for you.
We accept prescription prepayment certificates and exemptions, as well as all major payment methods including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
It’s completely free to use our service. We cover the cost of delivery, and your prescription will be sent using Royal Mail's Tracked service. You’ll only pay the standard NHS prescription fee (£9.90 per item as of 1st May 2024) if you pay for your prescriptions.
We’ll ask you for the following information when you sign up:
Your name and date of birth
Your GP surgery details
What medicines you’re prescribed
If you know your NHS number, add this too. It can make the registration process even quicker.
Once you’ve registered, we’ll match your details with NHS database and send you a confirmation email when everything’s ready to place your first order. You can log in and have a look around your account dashboard. Here you can update your delivery preferences and set your reminders.
Orders and Payment
We recommend placing your repeat prescription order online 10 working days before you need your medicine. This gives plenty of time for us to get approval from your GP before checking, dispensing, and dispatching your items. They’ll then be delivered using Royal Mail Tracked.
The timeline is often much quicker than this, but 10 working days helps us to make sure you don’t run out.
