Vitamin D
Vitamin D supports normal bone, teeth, and muscle health by regulating calcium and phosphate levels in the body. Vitamin D is formed naturally when skin is exposed to sunlight outdoors. This means that most people in the UK get enough naturally occurring vitamin D from late March until late September, but many people suffer from a vitamin D deficiency between October and early March, when the body does not generate enough of the vitamin from sunlight alone. Vitamin D can also be found in some foods, including red meat, egg yolks, oily fish (like herring, mackerel, salmon, sardines, and trout), some fat spreads and cereals, and liver. The vitamin D supplements we stock contribute to maintaining normal levels of the vitamin and are available as vitamin D tablets and vitamin D spray. People particularly affected and in need of supplements include those who can’t get outdoors often, cover most of their skin when outdoors, or have darker skin.
