Noriday Mini Pill

Noriday contraception treatment

An effective progestogen-only mini pill containing norethisterone. Taken at the same time every day, it prevents pregnancy in 99% of cases.

- Daily progestogen-only tablet

- Few reported side effects

- A good alternative to combined pills

How do I take Noriday?

Noriday should be taken once a day, at the same time (within 3 hours). This helps you to stay protected against pregnancy.

Take packs of Noriday back-to-back without a break, even during your period.

How long does Noirday take to work?

How long Noriday takes to work depends on where you are in your cycle when you begin treatment (Day 1 being when you first start bleeding).

  • Days 1-5 - Noriday will begin working immediately

  • If you start taking the mini pill on any other day of your cycle - Noriday will take two days to start working (use alternative contraception like condoms if you plan on having sex in those two days)

How do Noriday pills work?

The norethisterone in Noriday reduces the chance of you getting pregnant by:

  • Thickening cervical mucus so it’s less likely sperm can reach an egg if you’re ovulating

  • Making the womb lining thinner so an egg can’t implant if it’s fertilised

  • Encouraging your body not to ovulate

Does Noriday have any side effects?

While uncommon, there is a chance you could experience side effects if you are taking Noriday. Side effects can include tiredness, changes in appetite and mood and changes to periods.

There is currently no evidence to suggest taking Noriday will affect your weight.

If you experience any side effects, talk to your GP as soon as possible or contact us via your Account. Stop taking Noriday at once if you begin to experience jaundice (yellow skin / eyes).

For more information on side effects and other information, check out Noriday’s patient information leaflet.

Can I use Noriday if I’m taking other medicine?

Noriday should be fine to take if you’re on other medication. However, make sure you let us know any drugs or medication you are taking (medical or otherwise) when you complete your initial consultation with us. This helps us to know if Noriday will be suitable for you to take.

What do I do if I forget to take the pill?

You should take the pill as soon as you remember. Then take your next pill at the normal time. This could mean taking 2 pills in one day.

If you don’t take your pill within the usual 3 hour window, you won’t be protected against pregnancy. So, continue to take your pills as normal, but use a condom for the next 2 days. You may need emergency contraception if you had unprotected sex during those 2 days.

For full details of correct use and what to do if you miss a pill, please see the Noriday patient information leaflet. If you need more advice you can contact us in your account.
