Re-ordering your free NHS contraception
We have 2 options if you choose to re-order your NHS contraception. Both are free of charge, including delivery to your chosen address. Option 1 is to renew your pill supply with our pharmacist. You just need to book a telephone appointment to discuss your needs. Our pharmacist will then issue your contraception ready for us to deliver it for free. Option 2 is to manage your existing contraception through Pharmacy2U. You can request it from your GP through our website or app. We’ll then check, dispense, and deliver it for free.
This service is perfect if you want to save time visiting a healthcare provider or collecting your contraception in person. It’s a fast, reliable, and convenient way to have your contraception delivered to your door. You can choose the duration of your free contraceptive pill supply, from 1 to 12 months. If you choose our pharmacy contraception service, we’ll take care of all the admin, including letting your GP know we’ve issued your pill supply.
Any patient registered with a GP in England can use our NHS prescription delivery service.
To use our NHS pharmacy contraception service, you need to be over 16 and under 49 years old to be issued the combined pill (contains both progesterone and oestrogen), or under 54 years old for the mini pill (also called the progesterone-only pill, or POP).
Our pharmacist will be able to talk you through your options at your telephone appointment and check the pill you want to switch to is suitable for you.

The service you choose will depend on your needs. Our pharmacy contraception service is completely free. We’d recommend this option if you’re looking for the combined or mini pill as a contraceptive. It’s available via a telephone appointment with our pharmacist. If you choose our private service, you can do everything online at a time that suits you. Our clinician will review your online consultation and confirm your suitability for your chosen contraceptive method. There is a fee for any medication issued through our private service, but it offers alternatives to oral contraception, such as the ring and the patch.
Starting a new pill supply with Pharmacy2U gives you choice and convenience. You can access the contraception you need without having to see your GP or nurse. Our NHS pharmacy contraception service means you can speak to a pharmacist and ask questions about your contraception options. Our private service enables you to do everything online, with online consultations available 24/7. A clinician will review your consultation and issue your contraception within 24 hours if appropriate.
Our NHS pharmacy contraception service is completely free. Our private service includes a fee for the contraceptive you’re issued. This fee will depend on the contraceptive you’re issued but all prices are available on the service page.
If you want to start the pill for a reason other than contraception, such as managing acne, you can use our private service.
Alternative contraception options we offer
You can purchase a range of sexual health products from our pharmacy shop, including condoms from leading brands like Durex. We also offer oral contraception through our shop, including the mini pill and emergency contraception.
These options are ideal if you’re looking for an alternative to oral contraception. Our shop includes barrier contraception methods like condoms, while you can explore options such as the contraceptive patch and ring through our private service.
Our Online Doctor service includes the Evra contraceptive patch, worn on the skin and changed weekly. It allows a consistent release of hormones over a period of time to prevent pregnancy.
You can also explore the option of NuvaRing through our Online Doctor service. This is a soft, plastic contraceptive ring placed in the vagina and lasts for 3 weeks. It works similarly to the combined pill, releasing hormones over time to prevent pregnancy.
Anyone can use our paid contraception services. If you complete a consultation through our Online Doctor service, your responses will be reviewed by a clinician to ensure your suitability for your chosen treatment. If you’re unsure which contraceptive method you want to try, our clinician can make a recommendation.
If you’re purchasing oral or emergency contraception from our shop, you’ll need to answer a few questions so our pharmacist can make sure it’s a suitable option for you. All responses are confidential, and your information is securely stored in line with our policies.
