Foundayo - what you need to know
Orforglipron, also known as Foundayo, is a weight loss tablet made by Lilly.
It has undergone internal trials for weight loss and has now been authorised in the UK. It is not yet available in the UK or from Pharmacy2U Online Doctor - more information coming soon.
What is Foundayo?
Orforglipron (brand name Foundayo) is a medicine prescribed for weight loss, weight maintenance, and type 2 diabetes. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is a GLP-1 receptor agonist taken as a daily tablet.
When will Foundayo be available in the UK?
Orforglipron, under the brand name Foundayo, has been licensed by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for weight management and type 2 diabetes.

How does Foundayo work?
Foundayo (Orforglipron) is a daily pill that works by mimicking the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) hormone, which is normally released by the body after eating to regulate blood sugar and feel full.
This results in your body reacting as it would if the hormone had occurred naturally, helping patients feel fuller for longer by slowing digestion and lowering appetite.
How effective is Foundayo?
The ATTAIN-1 clinical trial of 3,127 adults with obesity, who used Foundayo (Orforglipron) alongside a programme of physical activity and a reduced-calorie diet for 72 weeks, led to significantly greater reductions in body weight than placebo with an average weight loss of 12.4%. The side effect profile was consistent with that of other GLP-1 medicines.
Who can take Foundayo?
Alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, orforglipron is authorised for weight loss and weight maintenance in adults in the UK with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of between 27 and 30, and at least one weight-related comorbidity. It is also authorised to improve glycaemic control for patients with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes.
A clinician will assess your individual circumstances, medical history and current medicines to determine whether any treatment may be suitable for you. Foundayo is not yet available in the UK or from Pharmacy2U Online Doctor.
What are the side effects of Foundayo?
