The period delay treatment our doctors prescribe (subject to your consultation outcome) works by mimicking the hormone progesterone and preventing the womb lining from shedding. The active ingredient in period delay tablets is norethisterone.
Postponing your menstrual cycle occasionally isn't dangerous, but it shouldn't be done regularly. It's also important to answer all the questions outlined in your consultation so our doctor can make sure norethisterone is suitable for you.
Period delay treatments don't act as a contraceptive. You'll need to ensure you're using a contraception method such as condoms to prevent possible pregnancy.
