What is Benylin Dry Coughs Night Syrup?

Benylin Dry Cough Night Syrup is a treatment that works to reduce the effects of a dry cough and help with sleep loss that occurs as a result of a cough. The medicine contains three active ingredients; Diphenhydramine, Dextromethorphan and Levomenthol.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that works to reduce coughing and clear mucus in the throat and chest. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that will reduce the severity of cough and levomenthol is a decongestant that will help by making it easier to breathe.

What are the active ingredients?

Each 5ml contains Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 14mg, Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 6.5mg and Levomenthol 2mg

Contains Liquid glucose, Sucrose, Ethanol 96%, Glycerol, Sodium citrate, Saccharin sodium, Citric acid monohydrate, Sodium benzoate E211, Caramel T12, Raspberry flavour 503.850/3T benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, ethanol, Carbomer, Ponceau 4R E124, Purified water.

How to use Benylin Dry Coughs Night Syrup

Dose: For oral use only.
Adults and Children aged 12 years and over: Take two 5 ml spoonfuls at bedtime followed by two 5 ml spoonfuls every 6 hours or two 5 ml spoonfuls four times a day.
Do not give to children under 12 years old.
Do not use more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Benylin Dry Coughs Night Syrup has a soothing effect and provides night time relief of persistent, dry irritating coughs and aids restful sleep.

DO NOT DRIVE WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICINE UNTIL YOU KNOW HOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL. AVOID ALCOHOLIC DRINK.
THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE OPIOID-LIKE EFFECTS WHEN USED AT HIGH DOSES.
