The active substance is Fluvastatin Sodium. Each Lescol 40 mg capsule contains Fluvastatin Sodium equivalent to 40 mg Fluvastatin free acid.
The dose range for adults is 20 to 80 mg per day and depends on the extent of cholesterol lowering which needs to be achieved. Dose adjustments may be made by your doctor at 4 week or longer intervals. For children (aged 9 years and older) the usual starting dose is 20 mg per day. The maximum daily dose is 80 mg. Dose adjustments may be made by your doctor at 6 week intervals.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not exceed the stated dose. Do not take if you are allergic to any the ingredients. Talk to your doctor before taking if you have liver problems, pregnant or breast feeding, kidney disease, drink large amounts of alcohol, due to have an operation, have a history of muscle disease, low blood pressure, diabetic, low blood potassium or any infections.
