Service message to our patients: Impact of recent third-party IT issues

Has last week's global IT issue affected my prescriptions?


You may have heard about the recent global IT issues affecting various services and businesses worldwide. While Pharmacy2U is not directly impacted, some external systems, such as the GP platforms EMIS Web and NHS App, have experienced disruptions on Friday and over the weekend. These disruptions temporarily delayed the review and approval of electronic prescriptions from GP surgeries across England. The good news is that we are seeing these delayed prescriptions being approved and coming through to us for dispensing.

We want to reassure you that our core systems are fully operational, and we are doing everything we can to minimise any potential impact on your prescription services. Our team is closely monitoring the situation and working with GP surgeries directly.

How do I know if my prescription has been approved?

We will send you an email when your prescription has been approved by your GP or you can track the status of your prescription order directly through our website or app. Please log in and you will be able to track your order via your account homepage

What if my prescription has not been approved?

Please contact your GP if your order request has not yet been approved. It may take a little longer for your GP to approve due to the backlog of requests they will be working through.

In the meantime, if you have any urgent prescription needs or concerns, we would ask that you check the status of your order in your online account or via the app in the first instance but don't hesitate to contact our customer care team if you can't see what you need. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
