How to use the Balance Activ Vaginal Infection Self-Test

Read the full instruction leaflet before use.
Insert the sterile swab approximately 5cm (2 inches) into the vagina.
Gently press the swab against the vaginal wall and hold for approximately 10 seconds.
Apply the swab head to the pH indicator zone on the test panel.
Wipe backwards and forwards across the indicator zone at least five times to transfer the sample.
Read the result immediately while the indicator zone remains wet.
Compare the colour of the indicator zone with the colour chart provided on the foil pouch and identify the closest matching pH value.

Storage and stability

Store in the sealed pouch at room temperature or refrigerated between 2°C and 30°C.
Do not freeze.
Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pouch.
Keep the test sealed until ready for use.

Precautions

Keep out of reach of children.
For self-testing and in vitro diagnostic use only.
Do not use if the foil pouch is damaged.
Each test is for single use only.
Only use the sterile swab supplied in the kit.
Do not open the pouch until you are ready to perform the test.
Do not perform the test within 72 hours of using vaginal preparations such as creams, gels, suppositories, antifungal treatments, or douches.
Do not perform the test within 48 hours of sexual intercourse.
Do not perform the test until five days after your menstrual period has ended.
Do not eat the desiccant contained within the packaging.
The pH indicator zone on the test panel should be green before testing begins.
Humidity and temperature may affect test performance.
Dispose of used materials hygienically according to local regulations.
