How to use Kendamil Comfort Milk from Birth to 12 Months 800g

Important Feeding Instructions
Use the correct number of levelled scoops as directed. Using too much or too little can make your baby ill. If the prepared feed has not been used within 2 hours, it should be thrown away and made fresh. Do not add food products such as cow’s milk to your baby’s formula, and do not re-heat formula in a microwave.

Preparing Your Baby’s Feed
Snap open the tamper-proof clip and dispose of it immediately and safely, away from children. Hold the top of the can with both hands, place both thumbs under the lip, and push up to open. The scoop is stored inside the lid. Open the foil seal by pulling back on the easy-open tab and dispose of the foil safely.

Wash your hands, then sterilise all feeding utensils according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Fill the kettle with 1 litre of freshly run tap water. Do not use repeatedly boiled water. Boil the water and leave it to cool for 30 minutes so it remains at a temperature of at least 70°C. Measure the required amount of water into a sterilised bottle.
Using the scoop provided, add the correct number of levelled scoops to the bottle. Use the straight edge inside the lid to level each scoop.
Place a sterilised teat and cap on the bottle and shake well until the powder dissolves.
Cool the feed by holding the bottle under cold running water. Always test the temperature on the inside of your wrist.

Feeding Guide
Add 1 level scoop of powder to each 30 ml of water. One level scoop weighs 4.3 g. This guide is approximate; all babies are different and may need more or less than the amounts shown. Feed on demand. If you need more advice, speak to your healthcare professional.

For babies from birth to 1 week old, weighing about 3.0 kg (7 lb), prepare each feed using 90 ml of water and 3 level scoops. Offer about 6 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 1 to 4 weeks, weighing about 3.5 kg (8 lb), prepare each feed using 120 ml of water and 4 level scoops. Offer about 5 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 1 to 2 months, weighing about 4.5 kg (10 lb), prepare each feed using 120 ml of water and 4 level scoops. Offer about 5 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 3 months, weighing about 5.5 kg (12 lb), prepare each feed using 150 ml of water and 5 level scoops. Offer about 5 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 4 to 5 months, weighing about 6.5 kg (14 lb), prepare each feed using 180 ml of water and 6 level scoops. Offer about 5 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 6 months, weighing about 8.0 kg (18 lb), prepare each feed using 210 ml of water and 7 level scoops. Offer about 4 feeds in 24 hours.

For babies aged 7 to 12 months, prepare each feed using 210 ml of water and 7 level scoops. Offer about 3 feeds in 24 hours.

Assumes weaning starts at about 6 months.

Precautions to consider before using Kendamil Comfort Milk from Birth to 12 Months 800g

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This product is a powder food for special medical purposes suitable for the particular feeding of infants from birth to 6 months as the only source of nourishment in case they are not breastfed.

After 6 months and from the beginning of weaning it must be used as part of a diversified diet, and it cant be used as the only source of nourishment.
The start of weaning must take place only on the advice of a healthcare professional.
This product must be used under medical supervision.
Breastmilk is best for babies and breastfeeding should continue for as long as possible.
When bottle feeding, do not allow prolonged contact of milk feeds with your baby's teeth as this increases the risk of tooth decay.
Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned each night after the last feed.
