What is Nerivio - Drug-free Migraine Treatment?

Nerivio® is a drug-free, REN wearable for migraine treatment and prevention that works safely and effectively by activating natural pain pathways to inhibit migraine and associated symptoms.

Suitable for individuals aged 12 and above. this device is activated via a smartphone application and should be placed on the upper arm. For prevention, it&rsquos used for 45 minutes every other day, or it can be utilised at the onset of a migraine for immediate relief.

Who can use Nerivio - Drug-free Migraine Treatment?

Adults, children aged 12 and above.

Nerivio should not be used by people with uncontrolled epilepsy, an active implantable medical device, such as a pacemaker, hearing aid implant, or any implanted electronic device. Such use could cause electric shock, electrical interference or serious injuries or medical conditions.

What are the benefits?

Nerivio® is a Drug free Medical Device that utilises Remote Electrical Neuromodulation REN to prevent and treat migraine. Clinical trials demonstrate that Nerivio provides consistent relief of pain and associated migraine symptoms. It is safe and well-tolerated with no systemic side effects or concern for medication overuse.

Nerivio is not a TENS unit. Nerivio and TENS units use different mechanism of actions, based on different electrical pulses and different stimulation sites

Nerivios remote electrical neurostimulation REN mechanism is specifically designed to activate conditioned pain modulation, in which stimulation in the upper arm activates nerve endings that in turn activate a natural pain-relieving process in the brainstem, causing a global effect of pain inhibition that affects the original source of migraine pain in the head.

This differs from the mechanism of TENS units, which stimulate local nerves and compete with local pain fibers to block them from working a mechanism termed gate theory, and thus must be applied at the same location of the pain i.e., the head, during a migraine attack.

How to use Nerivio - Drug-free Migraine Treatment
