Pharmacy2U reaches landmark 1 million vaccinations in the fight against COVID-19

The UK’s largest online pharmacy, Pharmacy2U, has today announced a milestone achievement in helping the NHS, administering their 1,000,000^th vaccination against Covid-19 in England.

Since the start of the pandemic, the pharmacy has been administering life-saving coronavirus vaccinations at 26 sites across England, working with partners such as Odeon Cinemas, Morrisons, Village Hotels and The Jockey Club racecourses. Pharmacy2U have also supported schools and care homes across the country, alongside numerous pop-up, and mobile vaccination sites to ensure harder to reach communities also receive their vaccination.

COVID-19 vaccination programme

The COVID-19 vaccination programme is the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history. Pharmacy2U has played a major role in helping to relieve the strain on the NHS since March 2020 by delivering over 17 million medicines to people’s homes, with data revealing it has saved over 6 million trips outside the home for potentially vulnerable people.

As we approach the winter months and Covid-19 booster jabs become necessary, Pharmacy2U will continue in the fight against COVID-19 by working with the NHS to vaccinate more people in England and will also be supporting the nation by delivering flu jabs for the second year in a row.

How Pharmacy2U played a role

"We are incredibly grateful for the work of community pharmacy teams who have stepped up to deliver the programme in a hugely impressive way.”

The pharmacy has been recognised for its efforts throughout the pandemic with awards including the European Contact Centre and Customer Service Gold Award for Responding in a Crisis. It is rated ‘Excellent’ on TrustPilot from almost 250,000 reviews.
