Can I get my medication sooner?
Updated
When you need your medication more urgently than usual, there are steps you can take depending on who has your prescription.
If your GP hasn’t sent the prescription to Pharmacy2U yet, the quickest option is to contact your GP surgery directly and ask them to issue a prescription that you can collect from a nearby pharmacy. Most surgeries can send a one‑off electronic prescription to a local pharmacy without affecting your future prescriptions with Pharmacy2U.
A local pharmacy may also be able to issue an emergency supply to cover you until your GP provides a prescription. NHS 111 can advise you further if needed.
If Pharmacy2U already has your prescription, we can release it back to you so a local pharmacy can dispense it instead. You can do this simply by selecting I need my medicine sooner in your account.
