Sun Damage
Sun damage occurs when the suns ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate into your skin and damages your skin cells. Sunburn damage increases the risk of skin cancer and speeds up the skin natural ageing process. Therefore it is important to protect your skin throughout the day to ensure you do not burn. Your skin needs sun to ensure it remains healthy but too much sun can cause problems and Ultrasun provides a complete range of products for all the family even when outside taking part in sporting activities.
People who are fair skin, have red or fair hair, have freckles and moles, have a family of skin cancer and people who have sunburned before need to take extra protection against sun burn as they are more prone to burning. It is recommended that you spend time in the shade when the sun is at its strongest which is between 11am and 3pm.
Applying Sun Sunscreen
• Apply your sunscreen protection to dry, clean skin 15 - 30 minutes before exposure to the sun.
• Apply up to two teaspoons of sunscreen to your head, arms and neck
• Apply at least two tablespoons to the rest of your body
• Re apply sunscreen regularly throughout the day especially after going in to the water
