How do Piriton Allergy Tablets work?
The active ingredient is Chlorpheniramine Maleate ? an antihistamine that can help to relieve the symptoms of some allergies and skin rashes. It can be used to treat the itchiness, redness, swelling, tenderness and irritation that can be caused by a variety of conditions. These include hayfever and other allergies such as pet, house dust mite and mould spore allergies, nettle rash and hives, skin allergies and dermatitis, prickly heat and heat rash, reactions to food, food additives or medicines, insect bites and stings and the itchy rash of chickenpox.
How to take Piriton Allergy Tablets
Piriton Allergy Tablets should be taken orally and can be washed down with water. Adults should take one tablet every four to six hours, and not exceed six in a 24-hour period. Children aged 5-12 should take half a tablet, and not exceed three per day. You should make sure that you carefully read all product packaging and labels prior to use
Are Piriton Allergy Tablets suitable for me?
Do not take Piriton Allergy Tablets in conjunction with any form of MAOI medication, or if there is known hypersensitivity to antihistamines. Use with caution if you suffer from epilepsy, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, raised blood pressure or heart disease, bronchitis, asthma, liver disease or thyrotoxicosis. If you are pregnant or lactating, only take on medical advice. Avoid alcohol whilst taking the treatment.
