Description Phenergan Elixir 5mg/5ml Oral Solution is taken to treat allergic conditions such as hayfever, rashes or hives, or to prevent travel sickness. Also to treat adults with difficulty sleeping (Insomnia).

In allergic conditions e.g. hayfever, rashes or hives: Children 2-5: Either: a single dose of one to three 5ml spoonfuls. Or: one of two spoonful twice a day. (the total dose must not exceed five 5ml per day) Children 5-10: Either: a single dose of two to five spoonfuls. Or: one or two spoonfuls twice a day. (the total dose must not exceed five 5ml spoonfuls per day) Children over 10 & Adults: A starting dose of two 5ml spoonfuls twice daily is recommended. This may be increased to a maximum of four 5ml spoonfuls three times a day. In travel sickness: Children 2-5: One 5ml spoonful the night before the journey. This may be repeated after 6-8 hours if necessary. Children 5-10: Two 5ml spoonfuls the night before the journey. This may be repeated after 6-8 hours if necessary. Children over 10 & Adults: Five 5ml spoonfuls the night before the journey. This may be repeated 6-8 hours after if necessary. For short-term sedation: Children 2-5: Three to four 5ml spoonfuls as a single night time dose. Children 5-10: Four to five 5ml spoonfuls as a single night time dose. Children over 10 & Adults: Use of Phenergan tablets is recommended.

Each tablet contains 25mg of the active substance, Promethazine Hydrochloride. Also contains hydrogenated glucose syrup(maltitol liquid), sodium sulphate, (E221) and sodium metabisulphate (E223). Contains 37mg sodium per 5ml.
