Role Purpose

Plan and Execute Manual and Automated test plans/suites across all P2U internal systems, covering Functional, Integration, Performance, Volume and Regression Testing

What kind of technology do we use?

We have recently moved to a new automation test platform consisting of Katalon Studio, Katalon TestOps and Postman which has been integrated into Jira Software for tracking. Using Gherkin syntax and Groovy scripting.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of Quality assurance best practices and testing methodologies
  • Test plan creation, test case development and execution using Gherkin Syntax or equivalent
  • Experience with developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Groovy or equivalent
  • Experience with automated testing applications (Katalon Studio/Test Ops, Postman or equivalent)
  • Experience with commercial defect management systems (Katalon/Jira Software or equivalent)
  • Working within an Agile Development Environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, files systems, and other program objects.

Desirable Skills

  • Software development experience
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, XML, XSLT
  • Experience with C#, .NET, .NET Core
  • Experience with.NET Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari
  • Experience with source control management software, such as Azure DevOps

Our QA Engineer roles work in Agile teams working in squads to deliver innovation from our Product Road Maps, whilst working with the rest of the delivery team to drive down our Tech Debt and Bug backlogs. We expect that this member joins the company with the ability to quickly learn Pharmacy2U application stack and hit the ground running. This person will contribute to ensuring other team members take an automation first approach that meets the highest standards of good Agile engineering. What do we expect out of applicants for this position?

  • At least 1/2 years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience is required or equivalent.
  • Creating, maintenance and evaluation of software automation test scripts (including incorporation of dynamic test data)
  • Gathering and validating application functional/integration/performance/load requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of test plans and test cases
  • Execution, as required, of manual and automated software testing in areas involving installation, functional, performance, volume, integration, and regression testing
  • Management of defects within a corporate defect tracking system
  • Documentation of process improvements regarding best practices regarding test automation
  • Creation of test reports
  • Maintenance of all test documentation
  • Coordination and prioritization of test development activities and the ability to work with multiple development teams and software projects are also critical for the selected candidate. Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot independently both software and operating system level installation and configuration issues.

  • The role operates within the IT team for Pharmacy2U and reports to the QA Lead.
