HR and Recruitment Administrator

DOE up to £19,500.00 per year (fixed term 9 months to perm)

Role Purpose:

To support our internal business functions in HR and Recruitment to recruit and retain talent.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities

  • Support managers on all aspects of employee relations including discipline, grievance, absence and performance management
  • Support HR team and liaise with employment law team and provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on HR related matters
  • Contribute to HR related projects
  • Understanding current and future recruitment needs
  • Exploring and using a wide range of methods to attract potential staff, including innovative and non-traditional methods
  • Liaising with partner agencies (e.g. Jobcentre Plus, recruitment advertising agencies) as appropriate to attract suitable job candidates
  • Assisting with the screening of applicants and arranging interviews, maintaining and keeping track of an active ‘pipeline’ of new applicants
  • Implementing good and fair recruitment practice in line with approved group procedures
  • Supporting the associated administration with interviews and assessment centres pre and post
  • Making offers of employment to candidates, sometimes liaising with agencies
  • Processing new starter documents and administration
  • Updating and maintaining employee records via the internal database
  • Additional ad hoc support duties as required by the HR and Recruitment team

Knowledge, skills and experience required for role

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Numerate
  • Microsoft packages
  • IT literate (desirable but not essential - has used HR systems in the past successfully and is quick to learn)
  • Demonstrate drive, initiative and proactivity in role
  • Proven ability to work both as part of a bigger team and individually
  • Ability to prioritise and organise tasks and workload
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

EXPERIENCE

  • Desirable - Working in a HR and/or Recruitment role
  • Working in an administration role
  • Working in a pressured environment, delivering against tight deadlines

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English Grade C or above
  • Desirable - Knowledge of HR processes and the impact of employment law on key decisions
  • Desirable – CIPD Level 3 or working towards
  • Commitment to CPD
