To celebrate 70 years of the NHS, we are excited to have partnered with the Daily Mail for the 2018 Health Hero Awards, to salute Britain’s Healthcare professionals.

Over the past four weeks, we’ve asked you to nominate people you know who make a difference to our lives and deserve to be recognised. Whether they’re on the frontline or behind the scenes, we’ve heard about the unsung heroes who go out of their way to care, with no thought of thanks or reward. Nominations are now closed!

This is a landmark year for the NHS and we want to celebrate the extraordinary staff who care with skill and dedication for 1.5 million patients every day. The Daily Mail Health Heroes are a fantastic way to say thank you as the NHS turns 70.

What happens now?

The judging panel, which includes our very own pharmacist Phil Day are now reviewing the heroes you have nominated. From the long list of nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants and volunteers, as well as the GPs, surgeons, paramedics and consultants - they’ll pick the 5 finalists who they believe have made an outstanding difference to people’s lives.

An awards gala for your Health Hero finalists

Each of the five finalists will be honoured with an all-expenses paid VIP trip to London, staying at a 5-star hotel. They’ll attend the Health Hero Awards Gala Dinner, in aid of NHS Charities Together where they’ll receive their award. The winner will be crowned the Health Hero of the Year and will be awarded with a luxury break to the value of  5,000.

Be sure to check back here over the coming weeks for details on your finalists and the Health Heroes Awards gala. In the meantime, you can read about some of the nominees below.
