Fybogel contains the active ingredient Ispaghula Husk, a kind of medicine known as a bulk-forming agent. Fybogel is a natural plant extract which helps to relieve constipation and helps to maintain regularity.
Fybogel is ideal for those people needing to increase fibre within their diets. Ispaghula husk can also be used for people who suffer from piles (haemorrhoids), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or ulcerative colitis.
Fybogel (Ispaghula Husk) swells when it absorbs water in the body thus regulating bowel movement. It also softens the stools making them pass through the bowel easier thus reducing straining. In addition, it is also used to treat moderately raised cholesterol levels by preventing bile acid from being absorbed from the gut into the blood.
Fybogel is available in granules and can be diluted in water. Fybogel can be purchased in sachets; orange, lemon or natural flavour.
