Dulcolax Pico Perles capsules provide effective relief from constipation. Constipation is an occasional problem for some people, for others it may happen more often, it happens when the normal muscle actions in the bowel (large intestine) slow down. This can mean that material is not easily eliminated from the body. Constipation can be caused by a sudden change in diet a diet with not enough fibre, loss of tone of the bowel muscles in older people, pregnancy, medicines such as morphine or codeine, having to stay in bed for a long time or lack of exercise.
Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, adults and children over 10 years: 2 to 4 capsules at night. Children between the ages of 4 and 10 years of age should not be given Dulcolax Perles with medical advice. Children 4 to 10 years: 1 to 2 capsules at night. Children under 4 years: not recommended.
Each capsule contains 2.5mg of Sodium Picosulfate as Sodium Picosulfate Monohydrate. Also contains Propylene Glycol, Macrogol 400, Gelatin, Glycerol and Purified Water.
Do not store above 25 degrees. Keep the bottle within the outer carton in order to protect from light. If laxatives are needed for more than 5 days in a row or if you have persistent abdominal pain consult your doctor. Do not take Dulcolax Pico Perles if: you are allergic (hypersensitive) to sodium picosulfonate or any of the other ingredients, you have a severe dehydration, you have a bowel condition called Ileus (blockage in the small intestine), you have a serious abdominal condition such as appendicitis, you have a blocked bowel or you have inflammation of the bowel (small or large intestine). Do not take this medicine if any of the above applies to you. If you are not sure, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking this medicine. As with all laxatives Dulcolax Perles should not be taken every day for more than 5 days. If you have abdominal pain which does not go away, you should see your doctor.
