Daktarin Oral Gel is for fungal & associated bacterial infections of the mouth & throat including oral thrush. It works by destroying the fungus and associated bacteria which may be present. Daktarin Oral Gel is sugar free and has an orange flavour.
Adults, elderly and children aged 6 years and over: Squeeze a small amount of Daktarin Oral Gel onto a clean finger and apply to the affected area four times daily. Children under 6 years: Squeeze a small amount of Daktarin Oral Gel onto a clean finger and apply to the affected area twice daily. Continue to use for up to two days after the symptoms have cleared. If symptoms persist consult your doctor or pharmacist. You should make sure that you carefully read all product packaging and labels prior to use.
Active ingredient: Miconazole 20mg per 1g of gel.
Do not use Daktarin Oral Gel if: you have ever experienced an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity) to Daktarin Oral Gel, miconazole or any of the other ingredients in the past, you have any kind of liver disease. Also, you should not take Daktarin Oral Gel if you are taking any of the following medicines: a hay fever or antihistamine product containing terfenadine, astemizole or mizolastine, cisapride (a drug used for certain digestive problems), certain drugs that lower your cholesterol, for example, simvastatin and lovastatin, midazolam (by mouth) and triazolam, medicines that are taken for anxiety or to help you sleep (tranquillisers), pimozide, a drug for psychotic disorders, certain medicines used to treat irregular heart beat rhythms, namely quinidine and dofetilide. Inform your pharmacist or doctor before using the medicine if any of the above applies to you. They will then decide whether Daktarin Oral Gel is suitable for you.
