Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the UK. Around 1 in 10 young people, both male and female, who are sexually active may have chlamydia without realising, as often there are no symptoms. Chlamydia is easy to transmit between sexual partners. However, if not treated, chlamydia can cause pelvic pain, infertility and blocked fallopian tubes in females, and in males it can lead to testicular problems and reduced fertility. Chlamydia is easy to diagnose and even easier to treat. This test is only for Chlamydia. The test kit contains:- instructions, test request form, with a verification tear-off slip containing your Unique Reference Number (URN), urine sample bottle, transport container, plastic sample bag and a pre-paid padded envelope.
This test kit is ONLY suitable for customers aged 16 or over, who do NOT have any symptoms of Chlamydia. Please also read the Directions and Warnings on this page before ordering.
Ensure you read the enclosed instructions carefully. Provide a fresh urine sample. Fill in the test request form. Keep hold of your Unique Reference Number (URN), otherwise you will not be able to obtain your test result. Pack the sample as per instructions. Post off the sample. Results are usually ready within 7 days of testing.
You must be 16 years or older. This test kit is not suitable if you have any symptoms suggestive of any sexually transmitted infections (STI's), which include: Women: pain when passing urine, bleeding between periods, unusual vaginal discharge, bleeding after sex, pain when having sex, any unexpected pain below the belly button. Men: discharge from penis, pain when passing urine, ain or swelling in the testicles. This kit can be used in pregnancy. However if you are pregnant and your result is positive, you will need to see your GP or visit a sexual health clinic for treatment.
