Cilest
CIlest is a type of hormonal contraception more commonly known as the pill or oral contraceptive pill. Cilest contraception tablets contain two active ingredients Ethinyletradiol and Norgestimate. These ingredients are synthetic versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone, Cilest pill works by over riding the normal menstrual cycle. The dose of hormones taken in the Cilest pill tricks your body into thinking that ovulation has happened this preventing the egg from ripening and being released from your ovaries each month.
Cilest is a monophasic pill which means that each tablet has the same dose of hormones in it. Take one tablet each day for 21 days and have a seven day break in between each pack.
Side Effects
Occasionally some patients do suffer from side effects when taking Cilest tablets these may be: nausea and vomiting, headaches, migraines, breast tenderness, weight changes, thrush, depression, skin reactions, decrease in sex drive, rise in blood pressure, gall stones, change in menstrual bleeding, blood clots, irregular brown patches on the skin.
