Your baby's skin becomes sore and irritated where the nappy is worn and normally develops between 9 and 12 months old. Nappy rash is caused because your baby's skin comes in to contact with urine and faeces in their nappy.
Nappy rash is identifiable because your baby's bottom will be covered in pink or red spots or blotches. Where the case nappy rash is mild it can be treated by simple skin care routine. However in cases of severe nappy rash you will need to see your doctor for prescribed medication.
