TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS produces a gentle stimulus through pads normally places over/near to the area of pain. The stimulus provides 2 different modes of relief dependant upon the programme you choose, known as THE PAIN GATE nad ENDORPHIN RELEASE. Programmes designed around The Pain Gate help to block pain messages being sent to the brain. Programmes designed around the Endorphin Release produce natural pain relievers called endorphins. It is commonly used to provide relief from pain associated with back pain, arthritic pain, sciatica, sports injuries, muscular pain and rheumatism. TENS may also be used to alleviate travel sickness, nausea and tension/stress.
